Search Engine Optimized Posts - Why your website design needs a blog and social networking!
Blogging is no longer just a hip website to have. Are you wanting Google to rank your website higher, quicker? As Google’s ranking system becomes increasingly more fine tuned, just have great web design will no longer do. Google has many ways of separating you from the herd. Excluding seo web design and backlinks … what’s left? The world wide web is becoming flooded with spam, temporary websites for the sole purpose of sabotage and spam. Ranking factors for website design age and the frequency of updates is becoming more important by the day. Many of these spam sites are new creations, therefore Google is giving more importance to websites that are at least a few years old. Another ranking factor that is increasing in importance is the frequency of your content being updated. One way to do this is to have your developer update the website or update text via CMS ( content management system ).
However - how about adding a blog snippet to your website - that automatically keeps updated content on your website? Does this sound good?
Blogs are affordable and quick to implement. Every time Google visits and crawls your website it looks for updated content, if you have a snippet of your blog added to your home page, your home page will continue letting Google know that you keep updated content and that you mean business.
This is essentially a way of telling Google that you have a dynamic website that needs to be visited more and more often because you are continuously providing updated content.
NOW - for Search Engine Optimizing your blog posts…
Titles, used in your website design page titles or blog posting titles are always very important! After you have performed your keyword research, use those same key phrases in your blog post titles and content. This will improve your website’s home page content saturation for the key terms you are targeting.
Use link baiting. Link Baiting is when you creatively use a hook to get the attention of the reader. For example, ‘achieve top 10 google rankings’, or ‘buy a blog now and receive a free Google local city listing’.
Lastly, social media exposure not only helps but is also helping overall ranking factors because social popularity is also increasingly being used to separate a legitimate website (popularity) from a website that is a spam or non very important website. Web sites such as StumbleUpon, Digg, Flickr, Technorati, MySpace, YouTube, Bloglines, and others can be used not just for blog exposure but can help with traffic to your main website as well.
